Joel Madden Launches Line of Fashionable Baby Clothing
December 14, 2007 | 4 Comments

Joel Madden, who is expecting a little one of his own very soon with (girlfriend) Nicole Richie, has launched a collection of baby clothes on DCMA Collective. Joel’s brother, Benji, helped him the clothing line’s creation.
These clothes might look a little worrisome: I mean, there aren’t that many parents who want to dress their newborn in skulls and crossbones, but the truth is: Skulls are in. And the clothes are, surprisingly, pretty cute.
Joel said, “I was inspired to make baby clothes because I’m excited to share something I love with my kid. I think it would be really awesome for me and the baby to dress alike.” Let’s hope that means the baby’s a boy.
The designs include a onesie, a baby hoodie, and a baby t-shirt. They might not be organic, but they’re just adorable. The tee is $23… is it wrong that I want to buy that for my friend who just had a baby boy?
Shop Your NYC Favorites at Found4Less

Found4Less has become one of my newest favorite websites. With its local emphasis on NYC bargains, the recently launched Found4Less.com is awesome. It gives fashion-conscious New Yorkers on a budget a new way of shopping and although I’m not in New York (or anywhere near the East Coast for that matter), it’s such a fun place to browse for bargains, get the latest scoop on trends, tips and tricks, that you can visit no matter where you live!
Mirela Gluck, who co-founded Found4Less and who is also a huge ”Sex and the City” fan, wondered just why it was that none of her friends had a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes, awesome handbags or the perfect (and affordable) little black dress. With a little work, she set out to change things and the result of her efforts is Found4Less.com, a web site that provides comparison shopping, product advice, information on affordable places and the latest sale locations for New Yorkers and visitors to the Big Apple.
Besides the latest NYC sales, the site also offers up advice and timely information on everything from shoes, jewelry and clothing to beauty and gadgets.
To see what expert advice and bargains await you (no matter where you live!), visit the website at Found4Less.com.
No Sin To Be Thin: Club Skinny
December 7, 2007 | Leave a Comment
ClubSkinny.com is a new designer denim company which caters exclusively to slim women with waist sizes ranging from 23 to 27 inches.
No stranger to the ridicule of being a size 0, Carrie Ventresca, who is co-founder and president of ClubSkinny Inc., says she just wants to be proud of her size - and seriously, it’s no sin to be thin.
The new line features six demin styles, as well as a variety of unique washes. Signature back pockets have been reshaped and strategically positioned to plump things up. A curvy back yoke rounds instead of flattens and the waistband has been redesigned to ride higher across the hips. Removing the 5th pocket and metal rivets, the front pockets are smooth, not bulky.
No detail overlooked, even the side belt loops are sewn at a precise, hip flattering, angle.

Lane Bryant, probably the nation’s largest women’s plus-size specialty apparel retailer, has launched its winter 2007 collection, which features rock-candy embellishments, glitter, sateen, jewels, metallic trims and sequins to brighten up the holiday season.
Get cozy in Lurex sweaters, jewel-embellished tops, babydolls in various styles and textures, and trendy cropped jackets and trenches. To complete the look, try tops with career pants or jeans with Right Fit technology, which are designed to hug curves and flatter body types of all shapes and sizes.
A popular trend this season includes mixing textures and prints, giving wardrobes an instant makeover, so an oversized knit sweater over a cotton turtleneck would look great!

Naomi Campbell Is Fierce in Marie Claire

Naomi Campbell appears on the cover the December issue of Marie Claire Espana.
She must really like this Louis Vuitton dress she’s wearing on the cover because she also wore it to the Marie Claire magazine awards just two weeks ago - where she looked just as fabulous then as she does in this cover shot.

Finding the Right Kids’ Clothes
November 8, 2007 | Leave a Comment
We know kids - especially girls - are growing up a little too quick these days. I mean it. Picture this: eight-year-olds in mini-skirts and skin-tight shirts, trying to look grown up and sexy. What is that’s causing them to grow up so quickly?
1. Friends, especially those with older siblings. Girls see the way others are dressed, and they want to look that way, too. Girls want to look older. Until they hit somewhere between 21 and 30 that is, when there’s a frantic desire to look younger. Children see what’s cool, and what’s hot, and they want that, too.
2. Teen/adult/celebrity “role models.” Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens… really, anyone in the spotlight. They’re “cool” and pretty, and everyone wants to be cool - and pretty.
3. Toys. Once upon a time, there were Barbies. Now there are Bratz. Barbie had goals and careers. The only thing Bratz are set to do is climb a stripper’s pole. And that’s a toy being marketed to children. Girls see what Bratz are wearing, and that’s what they want to wear, too.
Here are some tips to helping your kids look cute, “cool”, and fashionable without breaking the budget or having other parents ban her from their house.
1. Dresses and skirts are fine, but try to keep them about knee length, or have them layer it with leggings. Leggings and layers are “in.” Try Children’s Place or Gap Kids, which have dresses, including “Sweater Dresses,” which are perfect for leggings for only $20-30.
2. Denim is everywhere. Children’s Place has jeans for $15 for girls and boys, and Navy Pier has some nice jeans, too. Make sure they’re not baggy or skintight, and that they don’t drag on the ground.
3. Khakis are a good addition to any wardrobe, because they can be worn for semi-formal occasions, too. (Dark khakis are in, light khakis are waaaay out, and colored khakis could be fun, too.) Try Children’s place.
4. Cute tops and sweaters. Again, layering is in, and long shirts, with pastels and prints and then, long shirts can be over and under the shorter shirts. Navy Pier, and Gap Kids are good places to look. Don’t forget sweaters!

Mischa Barton wore a silver metallic dress with chain straps to the recent Fashion Rocks concert and so did Jessica Alba.Chain handles on handbag are highly desirable and if the bag is Chanel such detail is a must! Of course chain can also be a jewelery piece-Judith Ripka Long Chain Donut Necklace is made of 18K gold with pave diamonds and it looks stunning on a simple dress or top.$650
Zac Posen have created Antonia Frame bag-it would look like if it belonged to your grandmother if it wasn’t for a gold chain that runs across the front.A stunner!$1,295
Marc by Marc Jacobs padlock watch pendant is sweet and stylish and it’s a perfect every day accessory.£125
Jimmy Choo never stays behind fashion trends so you will be pleased to know that he has made Black leather open toe sandals, with chunky gold chain on the top of foot. You can dress up or down by wearing with either dress or jeans.
And as I strict follower of Chloe I just have to mention Large Paddington Capsule tote with,of course, chain strap.

Must have: Croc handbag!

Ashley Olsen was recently spotted with a vintage Fendi crocodile skin handbag-as an uber fashionista, Ashley knows that this is one of the must haves for Autumn/Winter 2007-08.
If you have spare $148,000 (plus tax!) to spend, then Hermes has the perfect thing for you-diamond orange croc Birkin bag. Bit nuovo rich, although even Victoria Beckham doesn’t have one…yet.
I love Nancy Gonzalez Croc Clutch-simple design makes it a timless classic and lack of a hefty price tag ($1150) makes it even more desirable. Available at Neiman Marcus.
Worth mentioning is Nubuck&Shiny Crocodile Bag in coco.Designer Massimo Calestrini designs for women who love luxury but also practicality of their handbags.$13,500
Michael Kors also follows the trend with his Sutton bag in yellow.Wear with purple dress and black heels.
Jimmy Choo has a fantastic Crocodile Ramona bag in cognac with gold-tone hardware.Big enough to carry all the essentials and looks amazing with knee high boots, jeans and well cut jacket.
But the best of them all- ultimate arm candy is,for me anyway-Zagliani Crocodile Tote-designed by dermatologist Mauro Orietti-Carella,the skin has been injected with silicone, making it most soft and luxurious.$11,300
