Hayden Panettiere on the Cover of Lucky
January 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment
So, Hayden Panettiere has become a household name after just a couple of years, and not only is she making a mark on the world in terms of acting, but in terms of fashion, compassion and beauty. Basically, Hayden is the Hollywood’s coolest person and is definitely on the Hollywood fast track. Which is probably why Lucky Magazine put her on their February 2008 cover.
According to Hayden in Lucky, “I’ve only recently been able to try out a bunch of different styles without feeling like I’m dressing beyond my age. On the show, I spend most of my time in a cheerleading uniform, so in real life I like to have a lot more fun with my clothes.” Then, Lucky showed us what the fashionable star likes - starting with shoes (and you know how much I love a shoe girl).
“I’m short, so I’m always on the hung from cute shoes with a little extra height,” said Hayden, who evidently tried on every shoe in the studio. She also talked about color, “I really try to go for it when it comes to color: Bright, exotic, greenish blue might be my favorite.”
The thing about Hayden is this: she may be young, but she knows what she wants, and she’s going for it. That is the mark of a true star. She takes chances and wears what she likes, and that is the mark of a true fashionista.
Tyra Banks Tells Us How To Look Thinner
January 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment
As we’re still only in the very beginning of the new year, we still have plenty of time to make changes and complete our new years resolutions.
For those who made a new years resolution to lose weight, this could help. Obviously, I can’t help you lose weight, but I do know some ways to make you look slimmer - which helps along the way. It’s possible to look slimmer - and feel slimmer - even if you haven’t lost a pound. Sometimes, that’s all you need to feel like you’re being successful.
On the Tyra Banks show a short time ago, Tyra shared these six tips:
Four other ways to look slimmer are:
1) Good posture - good posture makes you look slimmer because you’re standing taller - it makes you feel better and is good for you, anyway, so keep your chin up.
2) Wear dark colors with monochromatic schemes - dark colors make you look slimmer, light colors will make you look bigger. You can use colorful things for accessories, if you want, which will (obviously) brighten up your outfit.
3) Wear tailored clothing - tailored clothing makes your waist look smaller and makes all of you look more together.
4) Wear smaller prints if you’re small and bigger prints if you’re big.
Jennifer Lopez on February 2008 Cover of Harper’s Bazaar

The beautiful and very pregnant Jennifer Lopez is on the February 2008 cover of Harper Bazaar. The photographer, Peter Lindbergh, shot two different covers of the Latina beauty: one for newsstand covers and one for subscriber’s covers.
In the Magazine, Jennifer discusses her pregnancy. She shared she’s been trying to get married since she and (husband) Marc Anthony married in 2004, and that her mother really wants a grandchild: thus pressuring her into getting pregnant.

However, J-Lo said, “I do realize people want to know because they’re interested, but this is the first time I’m going through this. This is my experience and my husband’s experience.”
As for whether or not she’s going to take a break after the baby arrives, Jennifer said, “I don’t know - and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years.”
Kate Moss Tops PETA’s Style Poll
January 9, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Much like Mr. Blackwell, PETA has temporarily refrained from saying anything about Britney Spears’ style - or even her fur. Instead, Kate Moss is topping the list as the number one fur offender. PETA Senior Vice President, Dan Matthews, said (of Kate), “Nothing completes the transition from supermodel to super tramp like a fur coat.”
Other people who made the list include Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth, the Olsen Twins (of course), and Eva Longoria.
As for Britney, Matthews said, “At this point, Britney needs a break… Maybe when her head is clear, she’ll have a change of heart about wearing fur.” He says that if she doesn’t, they’ll pressure her, just as they do others who ignore their warnings.
Mr. Blackwell Names Victoria Beckham Worst-Dressed
January 9, 2008 | 2 Comments
Mr. Blackwell’s list of the top worst-dressed women list is out! Mr. Blackwell, who has been writing theses lists since he was a fashion designer in the 60’s says they’re all fun and games, and that he’s writing them to encourage fashion consciousness. This year, Victoria Beckham made the list as the top worst-dressed woman - and Britney was left off.
To those who are surprised by the non-mention of Britney’s name, Us Magazine had Mr. Blackwell’s response, “For those of you who were expecting to see Britney’s name adorn the 2007 list, I felt it was inappropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval.”
Here is Mr. Blackwell’s Top 10 list along with his comments for the top 3:
- Victoria Beckham: “Forget the fashion spice - wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em.”
- Amy Winehouse: “Exploding beehives above… tacky polka dots below… she’s part of a 50’s car-hop horror.”
- Mary Kate Olsen: “She resembles a tattered toothpick-trapped in a hurricane.”
- Fergie (so true)
- Kelly Clarkson
- Eva Green
- Avril Lavigne
- Jessica Simpson
- Lindsay Lohan
- Alison Arngrim
And in the Fox News report, Mr. Blackwell mentioned some he felt were particularly spectacular in 2007, including Reese Witherspoon, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes, Katherine Heigl and Cate Blanchett.
Mimic Victoria Beckham with the Bob
January 8, 2008 | Leave a Comment
It seems that the bob, which was first seen on Victoria Beckham (I suppose it was on Jessica Simpson, too, but I mean the first time it was done well), is taking over Hollywood - almost literally. The angular bob is nice, because it is easy for people with babies, like Katie Holmes, to wear without the new baby pulling out your hair. It also give some length, is sassy and adds character. The angle also gives your face a little bit of extra dimension, too.
After Victoria and Katie wore it, Rihanna and then Paris Hilton and Kim Stewart also wore it, cutting their long hair for a new look. Another great thing about the bob is even though you’re getting rid of length, you’re not losing volume or layers.
If you’re considering a new look for 2008, and you like how you look with short hair, give this cut a whirl. If you’re unsure, ask your hairdresser - she’ll probably be able to help you out. (And if she wants a picture to look at, you can pick up a copy of Elle Magazine.)
Victoria Beckham Models Spring Fashions
January 7, 2008 | 1 Comment
Victoria Beckham and David Beckham never have trouble standing out in a crowd. I don’t know if it’s because Victoria’s always the height of fashion, both always look so glum, they’re so well-known, or they’re both so incredibly attractive.
As you already know, this bright color is all over the catwalks for this spring… but I wouldn’t suggest wearing quite as much of it as Victoria’s sporting. You might end up looking like a banana.
I have to admit, though, I do like Victoria’s nails - bright cherry toenails (best toenail color ever) and her beautiful white-tipped manicure. And Victoria, predictably, doesn’t look like a banana - not even a hot yellow one.
David Beckham: Style Icon Dressed By Wife
December 27, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Women know the importance of dressing their men, and it warms my heart to hear that Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham knows the rules, too. David was recently named a gay icon, probably after that fantastic pose of him in the Armani underwear ad, and he is proud of the title, saying, “I’m very honored to have the tag of gay icon… Maybe it’s things like (the fact) I like to look after myself, I like to look smart and presentable most of the time.”
David went on to admit that Victoria plays a part in the way he looks, but, “I’m very organized and controlled and need to go to bed at night knowing what I’m going to wear the next morning.”
Women: It is okay to dress him.
Men: It is okay to let her dress you.
I mean, seriously, if the Beckhams can, the rest of us can, too.
The Chicago Sun-Times Names Halle Berry Best-Dressed

The Chicago Sun-Times named Halle Berry the best-dressed star this year. Her fashion mishaps are long since over, and she’s flaunting that baby bump (thank goodness she’s now wearing maternity clothes).
Katie Holmes is one of the three runners-up, and she sure has grown up, but as I believe I’ve said before, I miss the girl-next-door look. However, a little bit of Giorgio Armani and Tom Cruise never hurt anyone - and she wears them both well.
Natalie Portman is also one of the runners up because of her seamless step into adulthood and because she “somehow manages to dress her age.”
The third runner-up is Reese Witherspoon for her new hair, new body and new confidence since her divorce from Ryan Phillippe - and her beautiful Nina Ricci’s Olivier Theyskens dresses.
Beyonce Knowles Poses For House of Dereon Jeans

Evidently, topless photos are “in” right now, because just a few weeks after Keira Knightley made the poor decision to pose topless for Interview Magazine (and a Chanel ad), Beyonce is doing the same. Beyonce is sporting jeans - and only jeans - from her clothing line, “House of Dereon.”
A source told News of the World, “Bey wanted to show just how seductive the label can be.” She did a good job. The jeans are tight, and have a “squiggly,” which is supposed to be a Fleur-de-Lis (a symbol of the French monarchy), on the back pockets. To check out the full line, visit House of Dereon.
Personally, I think she should have stuck with Armani’s Diamonds.
