Rihanna

H&M is partnering with “Designers Against AIDS” and several musicians and artists including Rihanna, Good Charlotte, Rufus Wainwright, Ziggy Marley, Jade Jagger and Timbaland. Together, they are planning on creating a “cotton collection” named “Fashion Against AIDS” for girls and guys. The collection will be in stores in February of 2008.

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from this collection will be going towards the prevention of HIV/AIDS around the world. The product also aims to raise awareness of the AIDS problem.

The collection will have t-shirts, tank tops, and hooded sweaters made of organic cotton. The garments feature an original print, varying from a subtle couple under a red umbrella to a bold, “Use a Condom,” and the name of the designer is on the neckline. Prices vary from $12.90 to $34.50.

Lauren Conrad Plans on Holding Fashion Show

Lauren Conrad

The Hills star Lauren Conrad spoke to the Chicago Sun Times about the possibility of her holding a fashion show once she returns from Paris. She says there’s about a 99 percent chance of her doing the fashion show. She doesn’t expect Paris to change her fashion much - she says she’ll always design for herself - and that her style’s constantly changing.

When asked who she thinks has the best style in Hollywood, she says she likes Ashley Olsen. “I love the Olsen twin style. They really will try everything. These girls don’t follow a trend. They set their own trends. Anyone can open a magazine and dress the way they tell you to dress. It takes time to create your own style and the Olsens are brave and take risks.”

Although I completely disagree with her about the Olsen twins, she was also asked if she was a shoe girl, and Lauren responded, “I’m a huge shoes girl. I bought this big bookshelf that I installed on the wall in my bedroom. I keep all my good shoes on it. You almost display the shoes that way. Shoes are like art to me. They need to be displayed.”

No girl who loves shoes that much can be all bad.

Jennifer Lopez Suing Former Partner Andy Hilfiger

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is suing former fashion partner Andy Hilfiger (brother to Tommy Hilfiger) because her clothing line, “Sweetface” flopped last year at New York Fashion Week.

Rival lawsuits are being prepared. One source said, “It is expected that she will file suit and that he will counter sue. They’re likely to sue each other.”

Andy was the Sweetface CEO, and Andy and J-Lo had been working together for years. Evidently, the split took place when J-Lo’s husband, Marc Anthony, became involved, because his hands-on approach limited Andy. Jennifer and Andy argued about the interference, and then broke it off.

Now, Andy is back working for his brother, Tommy - and sources say he’s quite happy.

Fergie Designs Handbags: Fergie for Kipling

Fergie holding one of her handbags

Fergie “The Duchess” recently designed a line of handbags, Fergie for Kipling, which she released back in September. Yesterday, she got it into her head to sign the handbags - you know, like an author signs books.

The handbags are very unique, one is designed with a domino pattern. She said it reminds her of playing dominos. Many of the others are brightly colored - to add a splash of color to clothing, I imagine.

The handbags are all “Under $200. They’re for the girls who grew up like me. They’re still a splurge, but they are, you know, affordable.” All of the bags are available at Macy’s, and range in price from $38 to $198.

Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love Hewitt’s, who recently appeared on the cover of the new Southern Beauty magazine, is not the first celebrity to create a clothing line, she follows in a long line of celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Simpson and dozens of others; and I’m sure she won’t be the last.

The clothing line is designed for oversize women, and is called “Orca Fashions.” The clothes will only be available in black, and instead of numbers, the clothing will be labeled as “super petite,” “triple petite” and “sumo petite.” Orca Fashions will be released this Spring, and celebrities are already toasting support of it.

“I think what she’s doing is wonderful,” said Kristie Ally. “I hope she’s got a sun suit in super petite.”

Meanwhile, Jennifer Love Hewitt wrote, “To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini — put it on and stay strong.”

Keira Knightley Coco Mademoiselle

Keira Knightley is now representing Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. The young actress is perfect for Chanel, because she’s young and sweet, beautiful and “pure” as they come. She has a clean role, and people look up to her, which is just what Chanel wants representing his/her fragrances.

Keira shot photos - which are now everywhere - for two of the limited-edition scents, Purse Parfum and Solid Perfume, both of which are part of the Cambon collection. Coco Mademoiselle Purse Parfum is about $120, and Solid Perfume is about $175.

In addition to endorsing Chanel’s perfume, she’s also wearing their diamonds promoting her latest film, Atonement, which is set in the 30’s.

Antonio Banderas Cologne: Blue Seduction

 Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction
I’m pretty sure that Antonio Banderas makes my heart beat faster. And I can only imagine that he smells amazing. Weird, maybe, but I’m really excited because like Paris Hilton and Matthew McConaughey, he has a new cologne: Blue Seduction, which is fresh and sexy.

Besides, if the scent smells half as good as Antonio looks, I’m sure it smells amazing. Blue Seduction has bergamot, cassis, mint, melon and cappuccino accord. Around the holidays, a small bottle of cologne makes a great gift: for a spouse, boyfriend, sibling, parent, or even just a friend.

Every guy needs a good bottle of cologne to wear for a special occasion - or even just a date. Blue Seduction is about $40, and is perfect for the contemporary and modern man.

International tennis superstar Venus Williams will soon be able to add ’Fashion Designer’ to her long list of accomplishments when she walks across the commencement stage on Thursday, December 13, to receive her associate’s degree in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.  She has been attending the college since the fall of 1999.

“I love fashion and the idea that I am using my design education to actually create clothing and footwear that reflects my personality and energy both on and off the court,” said Williams of her new line, EleVen.

Andre West, who is chair of the Fashion programs at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale gives praise to Williams’:

“Venus has been a blessing to the department in so many ways, her drive and focus as we know is somewhere in the stratosphere. She has taken that same drive that she shows on the court all the way to the cutting table, sewing machine and computer. We will miss seeing her smiling face in the hallways, the faculty, staff and students have enjoyed having such a mellow unassuming superstar in our presence. We have all given her as much effort as we could to follow her other dream - fashion - and she has given everything and more back to us by her dedication and flair. Not only having great portfolio, but graduating college is a dream come true for Venus.”
