2008 Fashion: The Louis Vuitton Collection

 Louis Vuitton 2008 collection

Long gone are the days where Louis Vuitton was a dependable name meaning traditional clothing and prices. I think it’s Marc Jacob’s fault, but it doesn’t necessarily seem fair to blame him. This season, as you can see above, the colors are bright and almost on opposite ends of the color wheel. They’re bright, pattened, beflowered, and, in some cases, just plain weird.

Floral prints are clearly in, as are both short and long skirts. And “poof;” poof is also in, who knows why - though they call it “volume.” Same thing.  One thing to note: many of the clothing is light and airy, something you could wear to the beach - not the arctic. Colors are going one of two ways: bold and bright or black and white. (That means all my brown clothing is out. Goodbye, safe color.)

Obviously, as you can see from the pictures, these styles are a little over-the-top. That’s okay, though. Check back later today for a short post on how to wear the new styles - both the Louis Vuitton and the Chanel Collections (among others).
