Jennifer Lopez Suing Former Partner Andy Hilfiger

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is suing former fashion partner Andy Hilfiger (brother to Tommy Hilfiger) because her clothing line, “Sweetface” flopped last year at New York Fashion Week.

Rival lawsuits are being prepared. One source said, “It is expected that she will file suit and that he will counter sue. They’re likely to sue each other.”

Andy was the Sweetface CEO, and Andy and J-Lo had been working together for years. Evidently, the split took place when J-Lo’s husband, Marc Anthony, became involved, because his hands-on approach limited Andy. Jennifer and Andy argued about the interference, and then broke it off.

Now, Andy is back working for his brother, Tommy - and sources say he’s quite happy.

Scarlett Johansson 2008 Calendar

Scarlett Johansson February Pic Scarlett Johansson October Pic

How would you like Scarlett Johansson marking off the days this calendar year? You can do it, because Scarlett is now officially a calendar girl! Scarlett became famous through movies like The Horse Whisperer and Ghost World.

I’m pretty sure this is every guy’s dream come true, and for the girls — well, she is pretty, isn’t she? And now anyone can have the stunning bachelorette in plain view.

The pictures, which aren’t new (but still beautiful) range from fairly tame and modest to very risqué. My favorites, February and October are above. You can buy the calendar (about $15) or you can go here to look at the other pics.

A Truly Ugly Dior High Heel Sandal

December 19, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Christian Dior by John Galliano gold and leather sandal

I hate this shoe. I love heels, but hate sandals. I think what happened is whoever came designed this shoe from Christian Dior by John Galliano was trying to please everyone. The result is obvious, atrocious. I can’t imagine a scarier thing to put on one’s foot. Besides, where would you wear it?

This gold and leather sandal has… balls attached to it. Big balls, medium balls, and little balls. The problem is I think  the balls are the only part I don’t like. The rest of the sandal is quite cute

The sandal costs over to $1,000. The only thing I could reasonably see anyone wearing it is for a costume party or for dress up. But then, it would have to cost less than $10.

Back to the Basics: Black and White

Chanel Black and White Dress

Black and white is in! Clothing and accessories alike are back in black - with white.

Accessories like sunglasses are best this season if you forgo the “colored” glasses. Similarly, pin-striped or patterned black and white hats are uber cool. Boots are the season’s footwear of choice and black boots go easily with almost anything. Likewise, a black handbag or purse like Hayden Panettiere was seen with is great, and if it has white stitching, it’s even hotter.

Pieces of clothing, like shirts, dresses and skirts are all the rage. Dolce and Gabbana, John Galliano and Gucci are all using black and white patterns in their designs. Like the black and white Chanel outfit above.

The thing about black and white is it classic, and it never goes out of style. One thing: if going the stripe route, vertical stripes are slimming.

Kate Moss Steps Out In Style

 Kate Moss

Kate Moss isn’t exactly known for her great sense of style, mostly because she usually lacks it (until recently), but she managed to pull it off this time: style and beauty. And she didn’t even trip!

Note her long black tights, with the black wrap skirt. Not everyone can pull off such a high slit, but Kate sure can! And she looks reasonable because of the tights beneath. I think my favorite part is the reddish-orange shirt that peeks through the jacket she’s wearing and adds color to an otherwise very dull outfit. It makes her pop.

The only thing I don’t like is her shoes. I just don’t like black peep-toed heels over black tights. It looks fine, I guess, but another color would be a million times better.

For those at home, this look is easy to imitate - even if you don’t show off all the leg. Just find a color that makes you pop!

Stella McCartney’s Fragrance “Stella”

 Stella McCartney “Stella”

Earlier this year, Stella McCartney was named “Designer of the Year.” Stella’s self-named perfume is just one of the many reason why she won that title.

Stella made her name for being passionately against fur and creating feminine looks using floral designs from wispy cottons that even the celebs like: Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Moss. The femininity found in her clothing has translated to her perfume, but added something as well.
Stella said, “I wanted to capture the fragility of the high summer rose when the petals are just about to fall off. It’s not about skipping around the country in a frilly skirt on a summer day.” The contrasting scents of rose and amber fused to make a rich and sensual “intense femininity.”

Beyonce promotes Giorgio Armani’s Diamonds

December 19, 2007 | 1 Comment

Beyonce Knowles Diamonds
Known for her bling, Beyonce was the obvious person to flaunt Emporio Armani’s Diamonds. Not actual diamonds. His new fragrance, Diamonds. Evidently, Giorgio Armani called her up and flew her to Italy in order to promote his latest fragrance, for which she’s the spokesperson.

Beyonce, ever her stylish self, wore a beautiful red satin dress to the promotion, along with tons of bling (actual diamonds?) on her fingers, wrists and ears to the promotion.

If you’re wondering what diamonds smell like, I can’t help you, but the scent Diamonds is a combination of lychee, raspberry, cedar wood, vanilla and rose. Like the rose in his scent, Armani wanted someone to represent the scent who was feminine, but also strong, confident and sexy.

‘Tis The Season to Wear Red

 Jennifer Connelly red dress

Red is hot. Red is sexy. Red is also the color of the season - and not just for the holidays. If you want to step out in Fashion this winter, red is your ticket. A woman who wears red oozes sexiness - and it’s not hard to do. The funny thing is a lot of women shy away from red.

We all have our little black dresses - this season, consider a little red dress, like what Jennifer Connelly is wearing in the picture above. Or something like this $168 dress.

Little RED dress

It doesn’t need to be a lot of red, like a red dress or trench coat. It can be something simple, like a red belt, a red purse, red shoes or red jewelry. Red will get the attention of others and diverge it to you. And I’m talking about good attention.

Go red this season.

Catherine Weitzman Catacomb Bracelet

Whether it’s for yourself or someone else, now is the time to be buying jewelry. Sea-themed jewelry is an old idea that’s being done differently. And it’s never been more beautiful.

Valerie Saint-Gaudens is using opals, silver and gold in the way it’s always been done, to create rings and necklaces that are very beautiful, but highly unoriginal, like this opal dolphin ring. An opal in the center with two dolphins around it for $470.

Lauren Wolf, on the other hand is incorporting things from the see into the jewerly, like this Sting Ray bracelet ($800), which is textured like a sting ray.

Catherine Weitzman also has a jewelry collection made from things found in nature, like this coral necklace ($90).

This beautiful jewelry contains truly unique, fascinating pieces of art that emulate something amazing: nature.

New Yves Saint Laurent Fragrance

L’Homme By Yves Saint Laurent

“L’Homme”, the new Yves Saint Laurent fragrance is for the modern man who is the essence of style and sensuality. The scent is bright and fresh, and develops into the sensual. The contrasts make this scent unique and wearable.

The scent is woody in nature with cedar, basil, sandalwood and amber, but the bergamot, ginger, citrus, violet leaves and vetiver make you think more of “art” and “luxury” than “rough” or “outdoors.”

This masculine floral scent is fronted by French actor Olivier Martinez. According to one of the scents’ creators, Pierre Wargnye, “When you bring a touch of femininity to a very masculine scent, you increase its sensuality.”

L’Homme is a very reasonable $20 to $70. There are thousands of scents for females, and every girl wants her man to smell good.
